Official Welcome for the Families of the Class of 2023
3:00-4:00 PM (2:15 PM Doors Open)
Sanders Theatre, Memorial Hall (overflow seating in Science Center Halls B & C)
Dean of Harvard College Rakesh Khurana, Dean of Students Katie O’Dair, and Chief of Counseling and Mental Health Services Dr. Barbara Lewis welcome the families of the Class of 2023! Hear about what to expect during this important time of transition for students and families alike. During this time families will be treated to a performance by Harvard Band, witness a student-produced slideshow highlighting Harvard’s first year, and hear remarks from a fellow parent.
Note: Seating in Sanders will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the house is closed, we will not be able to admit any further attendees, but there will be overflow seating to view a simulcast of the event in Science Center Halls B & C. In order to admit the largest possible amount of family members, there will be no saving of seats. No luggage will be allowed in the Theatre.
4:00-7:15 PM Annenberg Dining Hall, Memorial Hall
Families are welcome to enjoy dinner ($12 per person) in our historic dining hall for first-year students. Student meals are covered by the meal plan. Due to volume, we encourage you to attend dinner based on your student's Yard assignment:

Families should reconnect to say goodbye in time for students to attend a mandatory evening meeting beginning at 6:30 PM.
